Rubi Rose Benton was born 2 October, 1997 in Lexington, Kentucky, where she was raised by Nardos Ghebrelul her mother who was who is an Eritrean immigrant dentist who was raised in Ethiopia as well as John Benton, her father, who is an attorney of Japanese, African American and European descent. One of her fathers was adopted. Scarlette is an older sister . Coral is a younger sister. 2 As a young child, she was baptized as an Orthodox Christian. (More sources are needed) She lived in Geneva, Switzerland for one year. When she was in her senior year of high school she moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Brookwood High School was her high school in Snellville. She was a track athlete. [3][4] She studied political science at Georgia State University. She discovered Marvin Gaye's music and the sounds of Biggie, Prince, Michael Jackson and Chaka Khan. Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj are among her influences. Rose was the first person to be recognized for her role as the principal model in the Migos music video for "Bad and Boujee" an hip-hop group. She began regularly appearing on Twitch streams around this time alongside East Coast hip hop commentator DJ Akademiks. Rose began her music career in September 2018 after she remixed "On Top" which was a track from Playboi Cari. With her hit single "Big Mouth" her popularity grew in 2019 Rose was featured in Cardi B's music video to her single "WAP" on 7 August 2020. A&R Chris Turner signed her to the LA Reid record label Hitco Entertainment in 2019. Rubi is also famous for her high-profile romances.
