Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin has been an actress in Canada and New Zealand for over a decade. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Wellington and made her debut in the role of Flora McGrath when she played her role of Flora McGrath in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 years old for Best Supporting Actress. Anna Paquin's full title is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was a Canadian native New Zealand actress. As a child, Paquin won her the Academy Award for best support actress. The role she played as the talkative and inquisitive character Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) was the reason she won the award. After she responded to an open audition call to play the character, she got it as Flora McGrath, the daughter of an mute Scottish pianist who relocates from Scotland to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to marry. It was her first role at the age of nine years old and did not have any previous experience as an actor. When she was a teenager her family relocated from New Zealand to United States. Paquin played a minor role in the role of Jane Eyre's title character while she was still a kid on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as an important role in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin had a small role in the television movie of 1997 version to Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. Also, she played Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). The actress played teenagers on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). She also portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
