Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and a businesswoman. She's the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the writer of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an independent liberal news website has a TV personality an author and philanthropist. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England along with her family members at sixteen years of age. At Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. In her 21st year, she was the president of the renowned debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the very first foreign student to do so. She was a conservative syndicated author after her graduation and when The Huffington Post launched a year following, she launched an online platform for voice that included criticisms about political events. Her popularity helped to attract several well-known contributors for posting their thoughts on news, politics and culture. Arianna rose to fame in 2003 after she decided to be an independent candidate in the California recall election, to take over Governor Davis. Aside from that she was the leader of the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as The most influential women in media. She was ranked 12th position on their list and in the same year the Guardian placed her in their top 100 list of media. The year 2011 saw AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made her the head of that media group which included many at the time-operating AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. The couple she was born to were journalist and manager Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. While she was closely associated with her father, it was her bond with her mother that formed her entire life. Her leadership skills were evident from the beginning. When she was 16, she began studying in England in the United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. In her college years, she belonged to Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first female president and only foreign president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned an MA in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist and critic and hosting a show on TV. She also appeared along with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editing assistance.
